Yunnan province became one of the top-ten giant coal producers in China

According to the news released by Yunnan's Energy Administration recently, in 2010 Yunnan had produced 97.6 million t of the raw coal, meanwhile during the period of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan Yunnan's overall raw coal output amounted to 424.3 million t and the annual increase rate had reached 8.3%, which also made Yunnan province become one of the top-ten coal production provinces in China.

On the other hand, Yunnan's licensed coal mines totaled 1210 till the end of last year, which had decreased by 679 compared to the end of the Ten Five-Year Plan. Beside it was reported that the overall coal reserves in Yunnan came to 69.1 billion t, ranking 9th in entire China. While its brown coal resources were nearly to the Inner Mongolia and ranked second in China
